Maxi length tiered ruffle dress with puff sleeves, and a babydoll waist. Handmade with vintage deadstock and recycled materials in a neutral color palette.  All fabrics are natural fibers, cotton, linen, silk, no synthetics.  The design is based on the traditional dress of Namibian women of the Herero tribe who have appropriated the styles forced on them by colonizers into symbols of resistance and resilience.  La Réunion Patchwork Dresses are art pieces meant to empower, embolden, and inspire all while honoring Africa.

The fabric in the dresses are a combination of vintage pieces sourced from all over the US and deadstock fabric from NY cutting rooms. Many of these materials would otherwise be thrown away. The designs make use of what already exists in order to divert materials from landfills. Sustainability in the fashion industry has become a complicated space to navigate but it is truly at the core of La Réunion's process and practice.
